Rich mahogany units set against crispy starch percale cotton pyjamas, silk throws, crystal trinkets and beaded handbags create a colonial, old world charm for homestore, Apsley House.

Rustic allure set against the opulence of antique bevelled glass in seductive combination for an environment which every attention was given to lighting, finishes and surfaces.

The elegance of Von Dutch clothing meets the tattoo world. The brief was to create a ‘chic’ grunge feel – a ‘hard core’ boutique. Because the clothes are extremely bright and bold, the design was to form a ‘back drop’ to the dramatic clothes. An eclectic combination of simplicity versus opulence, in the clean lines of wall units and undisrupted epoxy high gloss, crea floor with the “Ed Hardy Panther” and oversized opulent purple a gold customized chairs.

The customised ‘Tiger Head’ embossed tiles positioned alternatively in the bulkhead formed balance between the boldness of the prints and the understated elegance of clothes. Again, attention to detail together with budget was essential.

A funky grunge ‘skateboard meets beach feel’. Bold, blue, translucent plexiglass shelves in a wave shape for the ‘sea’ element. A screeded floor in earthly beach tones and white wash ‘drift wood’ base to units. A play on a half pipe was used for the shoe display, which stores a tremendous amount of shoes.

A graffiti wall was also incorporated to complete the ‘sidewalk grunge’ feel of the skateboard world. Great attention to detail and budget were essential and the clever use of backlit graphics complete the feeling of transporting the client to another world.

Bold, aspiration, young and vibey – Kookaï is a happening brand. For this reason Kookai stores worldwide have the same look and feel following a specific international design concept. Spin Interiors challenge was to model the stores’ key focal point – the counter area – to global standards.

The local Kookaï store is much smaller than many of its overseas counterparts and the scaled down replica required that dimension be intricately reworked. With it’s curved edges and glass display cabinets, the remodelling was an exacting task – highlighting out attention to detail.

Vino Verde is a statement in style and elegance, class and sophistication.Imported Italian shoes and handbags needed to be displayed to their best advantage maximizing space without the feeling of over crowdedness were essential. The design took on a life of its own as the narrowness compelled a need to see beyond the obvious at a hint of what may lay ahead embracing all the possibilities, by breaking into the horizontal view of an otherwise long and narrow space, a visual impact was dynamically created.  The false cantilevered bulkhead and columns float in a recessed illuminated dropped ceiling as if suspended in time. The creamed honey, honed and polished oversized travertine marble tiles hints at opulent decadence yet suggests soft muted reflection, which is offset by the bold chocolate brown, silver and gunmetal metallic duco-sprayed wall units.

These too appear to ‘float’ along the wall creating an illusion of space as the mirror backed units reflect the interior of the space back and forth.Brushed mild steel frame work encases the floating bronze glass shelves which are oversized, maximizing display space and emphasizing the concept of animated suspension and translucence through light dispersion. The warmth of the deep chocolate brown leather ottomans and chairs exude comfort and float off the brushed metal frame work that forms the framework of detail that is reflective in this perfectly balanced interior. Vino Verde a timeless suspension in enduring sophisticated design.
